My Interests

For as long as I can remember I've always wanted to be a footballer...but since that's not going to happen, I will just stick to being a football fan. Oh but of course, I mean to say soccer. Being from Europe I grew up playing the sport on the dusty streets of my neighborhood. Ah, it was quite the childhood indeed. To this day I am an avid football fan, and have grown up idolizing the legends of the sports, just enjoying the sport as much possible. To many people soccer is just a bunch of players kicking a ball around, but to me it's musical symphony on the field. I hold that opinion to several sports, basketball and tennis being other noteworhy mentions. Anyway, I love soccer for all its beauty and imperfections. Being a fan from a chlid I know all the rules expertly and that makes watching and playing the game a total blast.

I would say that I am good at playing the game, but I am definitely not skilled enough to be even a reserve on a professional team, even here in the MLS (no disrespect). I can be a great commentator though, my knowledge of the sport's technicality, as well as the idyosincrasies that often go unnoticed, is at a very high level. Anyway, in case you are clueless when it comes to soccer, the player pictured above is Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the most gifted and technical players of all time, as well as of the best athletes period.I think the best way to trully experience the game is to play it, but for those that cannot play footie, well let's just enjoy a video of someone that clearly can. Behold, in my opinion the goal of the season for 2008.

Learning the rules of soccer can be as simple as visiting wikipedia (I dare anyone to criticize the following web page: Learning Everything About Football)

FIFA.com is another great website serves as the NFL.com of soccer, only on a global scale and way more detailed.

UEFA.com is also great for looking up information on the top teams in the world, as well as reading football news of all kinds

http://www.soccer-game-information.com/ can also be used to read up on various aspects of the sport.
